MidRiver Co-op

Located on the Northern end of historic Nicollet Island, you will find the Nicollet Island Historic Homes MidRiver Cooperative. Consisting of twenty-two units in six historic homes dating from the late nineteenth century, the co-op is part of a rural oasis in the middle of downtown Minneapolis. The MidRiver (Nicollet Island Historic Homes) Co-op was formed in 1988 in an effort to preserve and rehabilitate several of the Victorian-era homes on Nicollet Island and to provide affordable housing to its residents.

The co-op is managed by an annually-elected Board of Directors and also consists of several committees (currently: Membership, Maintenance & Rehab, Finance, Documents, and Buyout) which advise the board, and on which all residents are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Currently a rental property, the co-op is currently undergoing a "buyout" process after which it will convert to a limited equity housing structure.  What this means in practical terms is that after the buyout, residents will have a small amount of equity in their units and greater freedom to make improvements to their living space.

If you are interested in information about the co-op, please send email to co-op.membership@nicolletisland.org.

If you are a co-op member, internal co-op documents (such as bylaws, meeting minutes, policies, etc.) are now located on a separate secure Intranet server.  You must have a login to access these documents.  Please contact Jamin if you need a login or if you have forgotten your login or password.  You can access the co-op's Intranet by clicking below.
